Job Responsibilities
Under direction of the Nursing Supervisor and in accordance with establihsed standards, procedures and policies, serves as a lead worker to lower level staff. Provides full range of professional nursing services in the care and treatment of recipients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires (a) graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing and two years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience; or (b) a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or (c) a master's degree in nursing. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Requires ability to provide guidance to nursing care personnel, apply techniques and nursing practices used in the therapeutic nursing program. Requires ability to interpret institutional and department policies, rules and regulations to personnel and to apply educational therapy and techniques in the training of nursing personnel. Requires ability to effectively communicate on the phone and in person with other staff and recipients. Requires abilty to lift/carry moderate loads (max 50 lbs). Requires ability to push crash cart (max 100 lbs).
Employment Conditions
Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Requires CPR certification.
